About Photographer Bruce Behnke...

Bruce Behnke has been taking photographs since he was eight years old, when his grandmother gave him an old box camera. While studying at Taiwan National Normal University he had the opportunity to photograph Asia extensively. He received his Master of Arts degree from Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California.  For the past fifteen years he has photographed the natural beauty and wildlife of the Hawaiian Islands, Polynesia, Japan, Taiwan, Viet Nam, Mexico, Canada, and China.

Bruce is a member of the National Association of Nature Photographers (NANPA) and subscribes to its "Principles of Ethical Field Practices" in creating all of his work.

In November, 2004 his one-artist show "Ao" at the Louis Pohl Gallery in Honolulu was reviewed by the 
Honolulu Advertiser, (Honolulu's largest newspaper) which said, "Behnke's often arresting images let us see the familiar in new and unexpected ways."  To read the entire review go to ART, November 21, 2004.

About Photographer John Behnke...

John Behnke was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1951. He attended Wayne State University where he studied with Tom Parish, Robert Wilbert, John Egner, Elizabeth Murray and Michael Goldberg.  He  graduated in 1977 with a BFA in painting. He has been in various group shows at the Willis Gallery, Detroit Artists Market and Joy Emery Gallery in the Detroit area. His paintings and photographs have also been in shows at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the San Diego Museum of Art.

He continues to live and work in the Detroit area.
